Our Marketing Director, Nyla Langford, had a great time at the WEAT “Managing Biosolids and Public Perception” event held June 6-7, 2023 at the Texas Star Conference Center in Euless, Texas. As Co-Chair of the WEAT Public Communication and Outreach Committee, Nyla’s dedication and hard work were pivotal in bringing this event to fruition, facilitating a comprehensive dialogue among national and local experts. The discussions revolved around the multifaceted challenges and promising opportunities in biosolids management, as well as the crucial task of enhancing public understanding.
Highlights of the event included three interactive workshops where attendees were able to learn from industry experts, collaborate with peers, and enhance their understanding of biosolids and related communications planning, execution, and community engagement. This was also the setting for a first-in-Texas Biosolids Beauty Contest to provide friendly competition among Texas utilities. Congratulations to the winner, TRA Ten Mile Creek Regional Wastewater System!
